BosBase — Range-Extending Relay Station
BosBase is a rapidly deployable communication relay station used to widen the coverage of the mesh network. BosMag devices already form a network by connecting to each other; BosBase adds a high node to that network's backbone. Its larger antenna reaches 20 km of range, and because it runs entirely on solar power it operates continuously without any electrical infrastructure in the field. It can be installed at a coordination centre or placed on a vehicle roof to become a mobile relay point. Being fully portable and requiring no installation, it can be brought online the moment a team arrives on site; its rugged IP68-rated body is dust-tight, water resistant and suits any terrain.

Closes coverage gaps on large sites
When a team spreads across a very wide area, or when valleys and ridges sit in between, the chain between devices can break. A BosBase placed at a high point closes that gap and keeps scattered teams on the same network.

Is BosBase needed on every operation?
No. If a team works close together, the BosMag devices form a sufficient network among themselves. BosBase is brought in to widen coverage when the site is very large, when the terrain cuts the signal, or when the operation runs long.
How long does deployment take?
It is designed to need no installation: no fixed mounting, stakes or cabling. The unit is placed at a suitable point or on a vehicle roof and switched on.
Does it work on cloudy days or at night?
The unit is solar-powered and designed for continuous operation through its internal battery, which carries it through the hours when there is no sun.
What does 20 km of range mean?
20 km is BosBase's own relay range in open terrain. Because the BosMag devices on the network also relay for each other, the total covered area is wider than any single device's range. Dense structures and broken terrain reduce it.
